Safe houses are places where you can pick up quests and buy various weapons and items from survivors. Safe Houses can be a base of operations for your characters by having Fast Travel stations to travel between Safe Houses, providing workbenches to repair, upgrade and modify weapons, along with picking up quests from various survivors.

- However, a town map can be seen in the Mayor's office, inaccessible behind Todd Tanis. When the player returns from the supermarket, it is on the floor.

- Doesn't have Fast Travel, but can be travelled in.
- Laboratory
- Later overrun by zombies, but the fast travel function is still operational.
- Mowen's Boat
- The Boat is not there during Boat Supplies and Back in Black due to the plot.

- Doesn't have Fast Travel, and is later overrun.
