Doctor Monroe was a survivor featured in Dead Island. He is located inside the laboratory, and was part of a group of survivors led by Dr. Robert West.
He is the primary focus of the side quest Deus ex Machina, in which the Hero must deliver some research to him, at the request of a dying Connor.
He then gives the Hero the side quest Scran's not for the Dead, in which the Hero must clear the area around the food warehouse of the undead.
During the quest No Time to Talk, the lab is overrun, and Dr. Monroe is likely killed.
