Joel Dirt was a survivor featured in Dead Island.
He is located inside the Laboratory, and was part of a group of survivors led by Doctor Robert West. Joel is a merchant, and the Hero can purchase weapons and parts off of him.
During the quest "No Time to Talk," the lab is overrun when zombies are released from their cages. All of the personnel in the lab are gone when the Heroes return, and only Yerema remains. It is unknown whether or not Joel survived.

- Joel seems to be a reference to the titular character of the comedy movie Joe Dirt, and wears an outfit like that of a janitor, Joe Dirt's profession.
