The Incendiary Grenade is a type of projectile weapon featured in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide, made from volatile chemicals such as Potassium Chlorate.
Overview[]
When thrown, the incendiary grenade explodes after several seconds and spreads fire around the immediate area of landing. Unlike the Grenade, the Incendiary Grenade does no fragmentation damage to objects around it, but sends out a blast of heat and fire that will cause the surroundings to be cover in flames and inflict a certain amount of fire damage. It can be seen as a better, but rarer, version of the Molotov Cocktail. The reason it's so rare is because it's not sold by any Merchants or found anywhere in the game world. Despite it not doing any initial explosive damage, the grenade does a lot of residual fire damage to enemies standing in its radius, making it good against hordes who will stand in the fire. It's not advised to waste them against Butchers however, as the Butcher can regenerate health if not being constantly hit, so they're likely to heal some or all of the fire damage before you can close in to strike them. They are however very effective against slower moving targets like Thugs or Wrestlers.

- Incendiary Grenades can be only obtained by doing the continuous quest Bleach with a Vengeance given to the Hero by Tavin.
- In Ryder White's Campaign DLC, Incendiary Grenades can be found in or around the B.I.D.F vehicles and by the bodies. The first Incendiary Grenades are found by the 3 vehicles where the soldiers have been killed by the Raskols, just when Emily White radios Ryder for the first time.
- It is advised not to stand too near the blast radius of the Incendiary Grenade since it might send the player flying and kill them.
- Like the Grenade, the Incendiary Grenade does not have any known blueprint that the player can use to create it making it more rare than the Molotov Cocktail.
- Incendiary Grenade are more common to be found in the Prison or Anything related to the military such as storage boxes.
- In Riptide, Nora at the Henderson Military Base in Henderson can sell them after completing the main quest Militarized Zone.
- The dead zone containing the Toolbox Midget in Halai Village in the Flooded jungle will always contain one Incendiary Grenade inside the wooden box the Toolbox Midget comes out of.
