Wet Job is a hard difficulty side-quest given to the Hero by Dr. Nguyen in Dead Island.
Synopsis[]
The Hero must provide Dr. Nguyen with a sample of Floater tissue.
Walkthrough[]
- Talk to Dr Nguyen to start the quest.
- He wants Floater Meat to study to find out how to kill zombies easier.
- Depending on how much of the game you've already explored, this may or may not be easy for you to turn in now.
- If you've already killed a lot of Floaters already, such as when you first met them in the Sewers or from just travelling idly in the Jungle.
- If you already have Floater meat on you, you can hand it in to him now and complete the quest as soon as you get it.
- If not, however, then travel outside to either the jungle parts of the Laboratory or the Jungle itself and search all the nearby pools of water for Floaters.
- The nearest reliable place for a Floater to be is where the two bungalows on the cliff are which you travelled past to get the data for his previous quest Where is my Pineapple? There's also two Floaters in the Ghost Village if you wanted to fast travel to the River Village and head up there to kill them.
- Once you have the meat, travel back to Dr. Nguyen and give it to him to complete his quest.
Notes[]
- The player WILL NOT be able to complete this quest if him or her already have completed No Time to Talk, because all scientists in the Laboratory will be dead, including Nguyen. So, you must do Wet Job first.
- If the Hero is already carrying a Floater Meat this can be completed immediately. On the other hand this quest might cause all Floaters killed to drop a Floater Meat so anyone interested in gathering a supply of it might want to keep this quest active. Testing is required to determine if this would occur.
- After this quest was active (and even after it was completed) there was an Unrecognizable Body with two Floater Meat beside it outside the Scran's not for the Dead food warehouse (at the base of the stairs). As such it became easy to farm both Floater Meat and Meat Bait.
- Two Floater Meat is guaranteed to spawn next to the unrecognisable body at the entrance to the Unmarked Laboratory location at the top of the map, just past Ope's Cave down the path leading to Mowen's Boat. This is one of the most reliable and safest ways to get Floater Meat, as they are guaranteed to spawn and can be easily reached from the Fast Travel board outside Ope's Cave.
- Floater Meat is occasionally sold by merchants for around $1,300 each.
