An officer inside the Town Hall
Police Officers are characters featured in Dead Island. They are surviving members of the Moresby Police force and wear bullet proof vests, helmets, and kneepads.
Dead Island[]
When the outbreak first started, all the officers were out trying to restore order and fighting zombies, either being killed or infected in the process. One of the raskol gangs took advantage of that and took over the police station, heavily outnumbering the few police officers inside and killing most of them.
A few of the officers managed to escape but later got bitten by the infected which is why when the Heroes enters the police station for the first time on the mission Lady in Trouble, they will notice a bunch of police zombies in the way before they reach the punks. The only police officer who survived that was Reza, whom the Hero meets later on when they visit the station.
There were also a few of the officers who guarded the Town Hall when the outbreak happened. They stayed there to protect the mayor and everyone who fled there for safety. However, they all died trying to protect the survivors when the Town Hall was overrun by zombies.
They later return in the Prison where they're called Prison Guards. They now also carry Rifles. Unlike the Town Hall or Police Station they're hostile to anybody in the area. They only appear for sometime before disappearing.
Notable Members[]
- Purna Jackson - Purna Jackson is a Hero in Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide and was going to return in Dead Island: Survivors. She was a Detective Former Officer as mentioned by her backstory in the Character Select:
- "Purna is a former officer of the Sydney Police department, and as such, she is an expert at firearms. After losing her career when she shot a child molester who could not be touched legally because of his wealth and connections, Purna then turned to working as a bodyguard for VIPs in dangerous places all over the world, contrary to her selection info. She is hired not just for her skills but her looks, as wealthy men did not mind showing up with Purna on their arm. She is still very bitter over losing her career, has a deep hatred of people with enough money to ignore legalities, keeps very much to herself, and wishes to finish off the child molester that caused her to lose her job."

The Police Vehicles cannot be driven or used they can be seen in some areas damaged or not damaged but still can't be driven.

- Unlike the policemen in the prison, the Moresby policemen are the Hero's allies and will not attack them.
- In order to proceed to the Supermarket, one of the officers at the Town Hall requires some alcohol to drink.
