One Foot in the Grave

One Foot in the Grave is a medium difficulty side-quest given to the Hero by Deanna in Dead Island.

Synopsis[]

The Hero must provide Deanna with insulin for her daughter.

Walkthrough[]

Talk to Deanna to start the quest
Deanna needs insulin to help her daughter, as she urgently needs it.
Head out the Church and make your way to the left from the car park. Follow the road down and take the first right. Continue down the road and up the hill until you reach a bus blocking the road. On the way you'll encounter Walkers and a couple of Suiciders, but they're not hard to deal with. When you near the bus you will encounter some Infected, however, so be ready.
You can get through the bus via the doors, or you can climb onto the roof via a ladder. If you have a throwable or two, standing on the roof is a good idea as you can bunch them up below you and kill them with a single molotov. There's a bunch of zombies out front of the pharmacy, which is just on the other side of the bus, so killing them all safely is always a good thing. You might encounter a Thug here, but it's not every time.
Once the area is clear, break down the door of the pharmacy and loot it. There's a Walker playing dead on the other side of the counter. The insulin is in the fridge in the corner behind the counter.
Exit the pharmacy once you have it. You need more insulin for Deanna to be happy. Go down the hill towards the warehouse.
Go past it and the pharmacy is just on your right. Three Walkers are outside it, so kill them and break down the door. There may also be a Suicider and Thug here, but again it's not always the case.
Enter the pharmacy and kill the Walker inside, who will grab you if you're not quick enough. Once again loot the shop and the insulin is again in the fridge in the back.
Once you have the insulin from this place as well, you can return to Deanna. It's easy to fast travel back from the warehouse.
Talk to Deanna to finish the quest and get your reward.

Notes[]

It's easy to get to this quest from the warehouse. Even better is to complete it while travelling to the warehouse to unlock it, since it's on the way there.
The cash registers will give you good amounts of cash, so make sure to loot them.
It's a good idea to complete this at the same time as completing the side quest One Last Breath and Fast Aid.

Trivia[]

The title is a reference to the BBC sitcom "One Foot in the Grave".
Another reference to the title is that people diagnosed with diabetes, have a risk of getting their foot amputated for certain reasons. Which is a dark joke towards Deanna being that she has diabetes.
