Rebels

The Rebels aka Prisoners are human enemies exclusive to Ryder White's Campaign. They are renegade prisoners who have escaped from their cells and now work for Titus Kabui and Micheal. They have armed themselves with weapons from various armories from around the prison and will fire upon Ryder White when encountering him. The Rebels are gathered in clumps throughout the prison and pose as obstacles to Ryder. At one point, a prisoner releases the zombified convicts, including two Rams, in a cell block.

Oddly, Rebels take reduced damage from torso shots, as though they were wearing body armor, even though their character model is unarmored and, in several cases, shirtless.

Dead Island[]

In Dead Island they're only encountered at the Prison in the normal Campaign most are allies with the hero in this game. You can find some zombies like the Ram who are found as undead asylum like Prisoners.

Titus Kabui[]

Titus is the leader of the Prisoners he will give the Heroes quests for there work and to get to Block C. But there are some Prisoners that can be found who didn't like Titus as some can be heard talking about how he is going down soon it was then later revealed the Canteen had a war and mostly nobody survived even Titus.

Kevin "Charon' Barrister[]

Kevin is the only Rebel to return in most Dead Island games he is a Hacker and said by Ryder he was on every Terrorist watch list the Heroes will meet with him a few times in the prison like hacking to get in the armoury. It is revealed in Ryder White's Campaign he was the voice behind the supposed to be "Ryder" it was also revealed at the end of Dead Island Charon is actually Kevin if nobody played the DLC and he was going to continue the outbreaks by using Yerema as a Walking Time Bomb.

Mowen[]

Mowen is the first Rebel the player probably encounters he is friends with Titus and the prisoners as said by others he is the only one who knows how to get into the Prison and out. When the Prison war was happening Mowen sacrificed himself for Jin and Yerema when he was attacked by a infected and died. However in Dead Island: The Book Mowen didn't go with the Heroes into the Prison and actually left.

Banoi Butcher[]

Banoi Butcher was a Rebel in Dead Island he was the only hostile Prisoner to the Heroes in the normal campaign. He is a Cannibal and has the same health as any Punks Boss in Dead Island. He carried a Machete and has been known for killing his whole family in past and is the most feared Prisoner in the Prison. During the Prison War Banoi Butcher is supposed to be killed but if not he most likely survived with the some of the others.

Dreyfus[]

Dreyfus was a Rebel in the Prison he has one side quest for the Heroes to find him Drugs Units in a Unknown cell. He died during the Canteen War due to possibly not knowing what was going off when drugged still at the time.

Alvaro Sanchez[]

Alvaro Sanchez was a Rebel that was sent to be saved by Titus he is good friends with Titus as mentioned a few times. It is unknown how he got stuck in the Cell but it possibly due to something happened or he shut it when he was attacked by some walkers like shown outside the Cell. It is revealed later on he also survived during the Canteen Fight.

Harland[]

Harland was a Rebel who gave a Side Quest later after the second Main Quest by Titus he wants the Heroes to get him Thorazine for his friend. Hes later killed during the Canteen War.

Arthur[]

Arthur was a Merchants in the Prison he is one of the few who also has a chance to sell Legendary Weapons. He died in the Canteen War.

Jeremy[]

Jeremy was another Merchant like Arthur he mostly was selling guns and had a chance of selling Legendary Weapons. He somehow survived during the Canteen War.

Brian[]

Brian was also a Merchant but he only sells usually things like Medkits. He survived during the Canteen fight.

Ryder DLC[]

In Ryder White's Campaign the Prisoners are hostile and the main Human Enemies in this DLC.

Henderson[]

Henderson was the Co Leader of the Rebels he can be heard sometimes on the radio. He then later escaped the Prison and after that it is unknown what happened to him leaving his status unknown.

Michael[]

Michael was a Rebel in the DLC. He is never seen but is only mentioned or talked about. He was the one who got killed by the Prison Guards on the roof by being shot 80 times.

Trivia[]

The Rebels encountered by the Hero seem to be affiliated with no one. They have the same uniforms as the BIDF Soldiers led by White, but some prisoners' dialogue imply they were the prison security guards that have survived the outbreak and are using weapons from the armories.
In Definitive Edition they are replaced with Prison Guards for unknown reason. Most likely due to a bug.
At times the co-leader Henderson is sometimes said to be killed by Ryder White in the DLC.
The Prison Guards were accidentally renamed Rebels somewhere in Dead Island 1.3.
