The Jungle Overpass is a highway within the Mingende Jungle. It was bombed by the Banoi Island Defense Force in an attempt to contain the Kuru outbreak. The Overpass Camp is located beneath it as well as a bunker which the heroes use to reach the Jungle.
Layout[]
The Jungle Overpass was a large, concrete motorway (highway) spanning across the length of the jungle. It was built sternly out of concrete which was likely reinforced to deal with the large volume of traffic that would be crossing over it. It was built on thick concrete stilts to try and disturb the jungle less, while it likely had three driving lanes on each side to allow vast amounts of traffic to travel on it.
Dead Island[]
We first find out about the Jungle Overpass at the beginning of Act III, when the heroes turn up in the jungle. They talk to The Voice via radio and they are standing next to the blown up overpass the whole time. You can later travel to the Overpass Camp which is set up next to the overpass.
Ryder White's Campaign[]
While you never travel to the Jungle during Ryder White's Campaign, you do see it getting bombed by the army to try and control the spread of the infection. As we know, this fails to do so but it gives us an explanation as two why it's in such a bad condition in the main game.
Possible uses of the Overpass[]
- A route to/from Moresby.
- A route to/from the Banoi Airport.
