Dead Island Wiki

Bungalows are common structures in Dead Island. They are found throughout the Resort area of which some are indicated by numbers or colours. These structures make up the various areas and residences for tourists and visitors coming to the Island. The bungalows would have been looked after and populated by the Hotel as an alternate place for tourists to stay while visiting the Resort. Each of the bungalow districts share some similarities, such as design and layout of the bungalows, the materials used and what amenities are around them, generally bars for beverages.

Bungalow Layouts[]

All the bungalows are generally of the same design. They are all made from wood with either thatch or wooden roofing, a double wooden door entrance with two side single doors and four main rooms inside. There's also generally several small windows in various places. The double doors will lead to the main living room which generally has a large sofa, a table and chairs as well as a few drawers or other such cabinets. The doorway in the corner will lead to the bedroom with either a single or double bed and it's here where one of the side doors are located. There's a small corridor to the right which leads to the other single door as well as a small bathroom consisting of a bath, toilet and sink. There's no kitchen in the bungalows, so it's assumed that you would eat out for lunch, dinner and possibly even breakfast.

Bungalow Districts[]

The bungalow districts are tiered, with Silver being the cheapest and therefore least desired while Diamond is the most expensive and sought after.

The Silver bungalows district is the closest the main Hotel complex and is therefore the least desirable because of the amount of people who will be there and its distance to the beach. It's the largest area, with many swimming pools and bars as an alternative to swimming in the sea. If you want to get to the beach and sea, you need to travel down a long set of stairs located at various cliff edges, making it a trek to get to the beach.

The Golden bungalows district is the middle area of the three, as it's not quite as difficult to get to the beach, but still a walk nonetheless. It's at the sea front, with some of them practically backing onto the beach. They've got better views of the sea and sand than the Silver bungalows but for some of them it's still a short walk to the beach.

The Diamond bungalows are the pinnacle of the three districts, likely being the most expensive and therefore most desirable. They're built over the water, so if you wanted to go for a swim you literally only have to open the door and you're there. They have their own private buildings connected to a wooden pier walkway off the shore, with a bridge to get to each bungalow. There's several small sandy islands with bars dedicated to only serving those residing in the Diamond bungalows.

In the events of Dead Island[]

Due to the outbreak of Pathogen HK, many Bungalows were attacked and overrun with the infected. As a result many of these Bungalows are now inhabited by zombies which are either stationary or are feeding ravenously on the corpses of the tourists who previously occupied the residence.

Notable Bungalows[]

Some Bungalows harbour Survivors who did not become infected during the outbreak of Pathogen HK. These survivors may provide Quests, Mods, weapons or even Vehicles if the Hero aids them in their survival.

Notes[]

  • Bungalows also appear in the Laboratory as a place for the scientists to live when not working in the Lab.
  • However, these are very different to those in the Resort. These bungalows are built from metal, with flat roofs and only two single doors, one on the opposite side of the other. Their layout is also slightly different, but with the same types of rooms, just in different orders.
  • They still have a bedroom, bathroom, living room and small corridor, while some also have skylights.
