"Clear the Path" is the eighth quest of Ryder White's Campaign in Dead Island.

SynopsisEdit

Charon tells Ryder White that the Heroes are coming to the Prison. All obstacles must be eliminated so as to not get in the way of the Heroes. Ryder first clears the showers full of undead, then uses the prison sewers to find his way back to the main control room.

As Ryder enters the control room, he catches Charon in the act — pretending to be him. When Ryder questions Charon about it, Charon explains that he has helpful information regarding the outbreak. No one will really believe a convict, so he has to keep his identity a secret. Ryder begins to regret his decisions, believing he should've left Emily to professionals. Charon says he betrayed the consortium, since he figured no one would've known what to do. Ryder contemplates executing Charon for sentencing Emily to death and forcing him to betray Australia — his country.
