The Bolo Machete is a sharp melee weapon featured in Dead Island. Its stats are typically better than that of an ordinary Machete at the same level. They are rarely given as quest rewards, and can be found in metal chests that do not require a picklock skill. The better variants can be found later in the game in metal chests as well.

They cannot be found on the bodies of fallen zombies. The weapon icon will come up when the enemy is defeated, but the player can't pick it up, so it's most likely a static display.

The side quest Nighthawk given by Monica Goldberg in the Lighthouse safehouse can sometimes award a blue rarity Bolo Machete.
