Batram is a survivor found in Mataka Village and featured in Dead Island: Riptide. The heroes first meet him at the end of the main quest Natural Resources, after giving Hadisi the Cinchona Bark which Dr. Hanson suggested. Batram is confused as to how the bark will save his son, who is suffering from Malaria, but eventually agrees to try it but says he will come for them if it fails. After this, the heroes ask him to help them get to Henderson by finding the map that Marcus Villa drew up and left in his house, the one they're all currently standing in. Batram says Marcus is an evil man who intends to learn and bring back dark rituals used by the tribe in the old days. Once the village elders had enough, they banished Marcus from the village. He does not say anything more after this, but becomes a merchant. If the heroes return after leaving Mataka Village, Batram and his sons are nowhere to be seen. They could have left Mataka for a safer place, or were killed by Marcus upon his return to the house.

Appearance[]

Batram is an older man with shaved black hair and a full beard. He wears a fluorescent green shirt with a tropical pattern, purple slacks held by a black belt, and light grey sneakers. He also wears a single gold chain necklace. His moustache appears patchy, possibly due to a modeling error.

Merchandise[]

Note: All of the possible items in Batram's stock are not guaranteed to appear at once. He will have a different selection each time you load the game.

Trivia[]

  • He is the only merchant in the entire game who sells Stingray Tails.
  • His inventory is entirely random and change each time you load in, but his weapons selection never change. One of which include a Diabolical Sickle.
  • When returning to Mataka Village after completing the main quest The Ritual, Batram and his sons will be gone, meaning his shop is only available for a very limited time.
